About The Valve
The Winged C EL34 is manufactured on the the original Mullard design and gives an electrical and audio performance very similar to that of the original Mullard EL34. If you want one EL34 that will do anything the Winged "C"/SED EL34 is the valve to buy. There is ample bass response but it is firm and controlled. The mids are smooth and the top end shimmers. It has nice harmonic content. The construction of the tube is outstanding. Lots of clean headroom from this tube with a smooth transition into breakup. ALSO KNOWN AS 6CA7. The SED SVEL34 is made exclusively at the SED SPb factory in St. Petersburg and bears the "Winged C" logo. This is the factory that made the famous Svetlana tubes before the New Sensor folks grabbed that name and started using it on other tubes not made by the original Svetlana factory in St. Petersburg. If you want the authentic Svetlana tubes, look for the Winged =C= logo
PLatinum Match & Tested
It means we burn-in these valves for a minimum of 30-40 hours before matching. The reason we do this is get rid of any faulty or weak valves and as a pre-grading process to allow the plate/grid mechanism to relax into it's rest position. Tiny differences in construction make for enormous differences in electrical characteristics, and thus if a tube is graded after it's been burned in then the measured characteristics hold true over its lifespan to a greater extent. This seems simple but it's amazing how many vendors ignore it. It's the reason so many people complain about poorly graded tubes.
